Learn professional Swedish massage from someone who does it every day. This practical, small-group course gives you the technique, the anatomy knowledge and the real-world confidence to start offering treatments — and to do it safely and well.
Accredited certificate suitable for professional insurance
Small groups of 8 — so you get individual guidance, not just a seat in a classroom
Taught by Lindsey Brookes — therapist and educator with over 15 years of clinical practice
Next intake starting soon — spaces are limited
Swedish massage is the foundation of professional bodywork — and one of the most in-demand therapy skills you can learn. Whether you're thinking about a career change, looking to add a new treatment to an existing practice, or simply want to be able to offer something genuinely useful to others, this course gives you everything you need to get started properly.
It's designed to be accessible without being lightweight. By the time you complete your training, you won't just have worked through a syllabus — you'll have given a full-body treatment, received real-time feedback from a practising therapist, and developed the kind of hands-on confidence that only comes from actually doing it in a calm, supportive environment.
Full-body Swedish massage technique, taught and practised from day one
Safe body mechanics — protecting your hands, wrists and back as a therapist
Supervised practice on real models in a professional clinic setting
The business basics: how to price, set up and start offering treatments professionally
Perfect for beginners: No prior experience is needed — just an interest in helping others feel calm, safe and deeply relaxed.
Small, supportive groups: We keep class sizes low so you get personal guidance, gentle correction and plenty of 1:1 feedback.
This course isn't a brief introduction to massage technique — it's a comprehensive qualification that takes you from the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology right through to performing a full, professional-standard treatment. Every module has been designed to build on the last, so by the time you're working on a client you understand not just what to do, but why it works and how to adapt it safely.
The curriculum has been developed to meet the standards required for professional practice and insurance — which is why graduates leave with a GTi Award and 39 CPD points, both recognised within the complementary therapy profession.
Introduction, reception, ventilation and client consultation — the professional framework for every treatment
The cellular system — understanding the body at its most fundamental level
The muscular system — how muscles work, and why that matters for massage
Muscle positions and actions — two dedicated modules giving you the anatomical grounding to work purposefully and safely
The skeletal system — bone structure and bone position, so you understand what's beneath your hands
The circulatory system — blood flow, the heart and how massage supports healthy circulation
The lymphatic system — lymph nodes, drainage and the role of massage in supporting immune function
The nervous system and the endocrine system — understanding how the body regulates stress, relaxation and hormonal balance
The respiratory and digestive systems — how these are affected by treatment and client positioning
The skin — structure, function and what to look for during a client assessment
Contraindications and contra-actions — when massage is appropriate, when it isn't, and how to respond if a reaction occurs
Preparing for treatment — setting up professionally, client comfort and safe working practice
Massage technique — the five core Swedish strokes and how to use them with skill and intention
Performing manual massage — front of leg, hand and arm, neck, shoulder and chest, abdomen and back of leg, back and neck (two modules)
Treatment adaptations and aftercare — tailoring your work to individual client needs and giving appropriate post-treatment guidance
Practical module — supervised full-body treatment with direct feedback from Lindsey
On successful completion of the course, assessments and case studies, you will receive:
GTi Award in Swedish Massage — an accredited qualification recognised for professional practice and insurance
39 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points — which count towards ongoing professional development requirements if you are already practising in a complementary therapy role
This is the level of grounding that lets you work with clients confidently and safely — not just complete a course. Every module builds towards that outcome.
Massage is a hands-on skill. You can read about technique, watch it demonstrated, and understand it intellectually — but the only way to actually develop it is to practise, receive feedback and practise again. That's why all our training is delivered in person, in a small group, in a real clinical environment.
Online courses have their place, but they can't tell you that your pressure is too light, that your stance is putting strain on your back, or that a small adjustment in hand position would make your effleurage twice as effective. Lindsey can — and does, throughout every training day.
Lindsey observes your technique throughout the day and offers calm, specific corrections as you work — so you're not guessing whether you're doing it right.
You'll practise on real models in Lindsey's professional clinic space — the same environment where she works with paying clients every day. That context matters.
Small groups mean more hands-on time and more personal attention. By the end of your training, your confidence comes from actual experience, not just completing a course.

Lindsey Brookes — Therapist, Educator & Founder of Brookes Therapies
Lindsey has been practising as a professional therapist for over 15 years and teaching bodywork for much of that time. She holds an NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Complementary Therapies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Aromatherapy Blending, advanced qualifications in massage and a Level 3 Adult Education and Teaching Diploma — so she's as qualified in how to teach as she is in what she's teaching.
What that means in practice: her courses aren't built around a textbook. They're built around the real questions, common mistakes and genuine challenges that come up when you work with actual clients — because she deals with them every day. You're learning from someone with current, active clinical experience, not someone who trained years ago and has been teaching ever since.
Her teaching style is calm, encouraging and individual. She notices where each student needs support and adjusts her guidance accordingly — the same approach she takes with her clients, applied to her students.
NVQ Level 2 & 3 VTCT Complementary Therapies
Postgraduate Diploma in Aromatherapy Blending
Advanced Massage Techniques qualification
Hot Stone Massage, Myofascial Release, Pregnancy Massage
Adult Education & Teaching Diploma Level 3

Clinical training experience at Royal Marsden Hospital (aromatherapy for respiratory support, wound care, pain and fatigue)
When you train with Lindsey, you're not just learning a skill — you're learning it from someone whose livelihood depends on doing it well.

Caroline Daffern
I was looking for someone to teach me Indian head massage and Lindsey was recommended to me by a friend who had attended massage training with her.
I never wanted to learn full body massage, just more holistic treatments to complement my Reiki treatments. I did the Indian head Massage training and then Reflexology training with Lindsey, plus a few Potions Club workshops where we played around with aromatherapy formulas and made products. So fun!
I loved every moment of learning with Lindsey, she is a fountain full of knowledge and always gives more. I got so much joy out of learning with Lindsey and then putting my skills to practice with my clients that I had really good feedback.
Her way of sharing her knowledge, supporting our growth has benefited my own holistic treatments. I can't thank this lovely lady enough for helping me hone the skills I needed to help support and guide others on their holistic journeys.

I have completed several courses with Lindsey, including Chakra Balancing, Crystal Therapy, Indian Head Massage, Full Body Massage, Ear Candling, and Reflexology. I keep coming back to Lindsey because of her teaching methods. There is online theory before any practical sessions, so you know the basics beforehand. The practical sessions are great, very hands-on with lots of practice which I love, very casual, friendly, supportive and fun. Lindsey is so very knowledgeable and shares her methods and, more importantly, how you can combine different modalities to create wonderful holistic experiences for those wanting a treatment. And the support doesn't end at the end of a course, Lindsey has a hub with useful information and areas where you can chat to other students to swap tips and hints and ask questions. I would 100% recommend learning with Lindsey, one of the best decisions I've made.

Just wanted to say Lindsey Brookes is truly amazing at teaching, she started with me at the very beginning of my new journey into holistic treatments, teaching me how to do Swedish body massages, I then approached Lindsey a couple of years later to complete my reflexology course with her.
She is very patient and kind, I felt so at ease with her and didn’t worry about asking too many questions, she always found time to answer me
I have now set up my own business, so I’m a very happy lady xx.
